Cirencester Treasure Trail

Charity Blind Auction.  F. Hinds Jewellers on Cricklade Street are running a blind auction in aid of the Cotswold Care Hospice.  The charity auction will be running in the shop until 19th December 2012 and the winning bid will be advised on 20th December.  Click here for more details.

Cirencester puts its skates on!!!  New for 2012 is the addition of a skating rink in the Abbey Grounds, steps away from the beautiful Parish Church.  From the Market Place, take a walk through the Enchanted Trail and enjoy a half-hour of skating, followed by a mug of hot chocolate!  The skating rink will be open Open 12-8pm weekdays and 10am-8pm Saturdays and Sundays up to Sunday 16th December. Switching on of the Lights.  On Friday 30 November, Cirencester will come alive with lights.  The evening will kick off at 5:00pm with local Gloucesteshire band, The Roving Crows as well as local performer, Abbie Lea followed by Tom and Henry Herbert, The Fabulous Baker Brothers who will be on hand to flick the switch at 6pm - and don't forget to visit them for book signing at Octavia's Bookshop from 4pm to 5pm.  

We are delighted to let you know that  there will be FREE PARKING available from 4pm at the Forum and the Waterloo Car Parks for the lights switchon. 

Skating Rink Grand Opening.  On Saturday 1st December at 11am, join some of the cast from 'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe' who will entice you with a sneak preview of their show.  This mysterious land of deep magic is brought vividly to life by Cirencester College's performing arts team.  The show runs from 11th-14th December at the Sundial Theatre (see below).  As well, the Heart Angels will be on hand today and will be offering face painting and other fun surprises!

Lantern Procession.  There will be a beautiful procession of paper lanterns through the streets of Cirencester taking place on Saturday 8th December.  These lanterns are no ordinary, simple designs, but spectacular, colourful creations.  The procession will be led by the Deer Park School Samba Band.  Come out and watch - or take part!  Click here or see below for more information.  Workshops will take place at the New Brewery Arts on 10th, 17th and 24th November.  To book, call 01285 657 181or email .

For anyone interested in joining the lantern procession, we will meet at the Bathurst Estate Yard at 4:45pm.  The parade will start promptly at 5:00pm.  The route will start at the Bathurst Estate Yard, down Black Jack Street, behind the Parish Church through the Enchanted Trail to the skating rink, back via the Enchanted Trail to Market Place, we will loop Market Place twice with a photo opportunity at the Parish Church when finished.  We will be publishing photos on our website and facebook, and if you or your children do not wish to be photographed, please advise our photographer on site.

Shoppers Carol Service.  On Saturday 8th December, take some time to get into the festive spririt and sing traditional Christmas Carols in the beautiful surroundings of the Parish Church.

Festival Sundays.  Join the fun on Sunday 9th and Sunday 16th December from 11am to 3pm, where there will be street entertainment ranging from Santa, GrandElf, Stiltwalking Angels, live reindeer and Comedy Shepherds street theatre.

Enchanted Christmas at Westonbirt Arboretum. A spectacular illuminated trail, crafts, gifts and festive family fun will greet visitors to the Enchanted Christmas at Westonbirt Arboretum.  The one mile trail has accessible paths and pre-booked electric scooters or wheelchairs are available for use free of charge.  Open Friday, Saturdays and Sundays 30 November to 23 December from 5pm-8:30pm (last admission at 7:15pm).
